YIG Volunteer Candidate Nomination and Platform

Candidate nomination must be completed before the Final Deadline. Nominations will not be accepted after said due date. These offices will be elected at the upcoming Conference and will serve at the following year's conference. Please note that some offices require prior YIG experience.

Please take note that all candidate nominations are subject to approval by both the advisors and YMCA Center for Civic Engagement staff. Previous disciplinary issues may prevent you from running for an officer position. Candidates must fulfill the standards set forth by the YMCA of Middle Tennessee to be eligible to run.

Students must also, by the Wednesday before the conference submit their candidate speeches online. If you do not submit your speech by the required deadline, you will be removed from the ballot.

  • Red Lieutenant Governor (runner up is Red Speaker Pro-Temp)
  • White Lieutenant Governor(runner up is White Speaker Pro-Temp)
  • Blue Lieutenant Governor(runner up is Blue Speaker Pro-Temp)
  • Red Speaker of the House (runner up is Red Speaker Pro-Temp)
  • White Speaker of the House (runner up is White Speaker Pro-Temp)
  • Blue Speaker of the House p(runner up is Blue Speaker Pro-Temp)
  • Red Floor Leader (first place wins preferred chamber, runner up will serve in other chamber)
  • White Floor Leader (first place wins preferred chamber, runner up will serve in other chamber)
  • Blue Floor Leader (first place wins preferred chamber, runner up will serve in other chamber)
